Risk Management

Each hairstyle charts the risk and comfort levels associated with wearing Black hair in predominantly white spaces. Risk is determined by threats, passive aggression, and cultural insensitivity. Comfort considers installation pain, duration, and effects on natural hair. Currently on view at the University of Houston North Student Center. Exhibited at the Blaffer Art Museum, 2021.
