BLOCKED

Laser cut wood

The BLOCKED set consists of 4 laser cut wooden blocks; Google, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. These are applications that exist digitally but have been interwoven into our lives for instant research and expression. They give us the freedom to express ourselves yet, have set guidelines that filter content to shape what information is available to the public. I responded to this filtration by showcasing the amount of info being hidden by them while censoring the guidelines themselves by putting them inside of the block. I made them similar to children playing blocks to represent the lack of control we have over our own content and digital experiences.
