Risk

During this set of explorations, each hairstyle is listed and highlights my risk and comfort levels associated with them. Risk is determined by things that are negative, threatening, passive-aggressive or culturally insensitive. These risks could cost us major losses both physically and financially. For example, going to an interview with our natural hair professionally maintained could still appear unprofessional to those who generally or subconsciously view Black hairstyles as inferior.

Comfort

Comfort is referring to how the hairstyle is worn. Different factors like installation pain, general discomfort throughout the duration of the style, and the effects the hairstyle has on my natural hair are considered to determine the overall comfort level.
