Hey, I'm Samiria!

DEAR CONSUMER,
Digital Photomontage using cut tags and a scanner.
This series began by exploring type as texture, language, and material. Clothing was used because how we dress and what our clothing says on the outside can be a message to the public or an extension of our own attitude. The tags on our clothes are extremely intentional letters from the manufacturers of our clothing to the consumer caring or wearing the items. Oftentimes we forget about them, tuck them, hide them or cut them off altogether. Here I wanted to highlight the extreme extent of the manufacturers that wish to communicate with you about what their products are made of and how to care for their creations. I mix this with the dynamic and sometimes destructive response from the consumer.
